A new day at Cherry Hill with an old friend!

I had the privilege of spending the day with an old family friend at Cherry Hill this week. The best part of all was it was her first time ever going there, so to watch her experience it, was pretty amazing. Our day consisted of playing at a new pool, swimming with grandma, napping and going down the dragon slide. Six hous later we were all ready for another nap and dinner. Let's just say I have converted another :). Our friend will be coming back again, next time with her family and then again to celebrate her birthday! Here are some pictures of our wonderful day...

Why I love Cherry Hill...

I have been talking with family and friends about our fun, excited, crazy, annoying (haha) stories about why we love Cherry Hill.  I found that most were the same reasons, so I thought I'd share:
1.  No rules!!! You can bring outside food and drink, outside floaties/life jackets/tubes are allowed, no swim diaper covers necessary and no scheduled breaks are required.  The freedom is what allows people to keep coming back.  I know that one great swim experience can make or break which swimming pool I go to.  I have never had a bad experience or not had fun any time my family has gone to Cherry Hill.  Which is why we come back each year.
2.  Who doesn't love getting a discount?  If you are like me, it's nice to save a few bucks where you can.  Well remember before visiting Cherry Hill, if you don't have a season pass to check out the discounts available at http://www.cherry-hill.com/discounts.php.  Also remember the great rate after 4pm.  I love heading to the pool after nap time and when things seem to quite down.  My husband stops by on his way home from work for a short swim with the kids.  I so look forward to my late night swims at Cherry Hill with my whole family.  Plus kids end up going to bed early :)
3.  There is something for everyone and I mean everyone!!!  I will start with "our spot" the "hot tub".  I normally can get my same spot, where I get to sit pool side with my huge umbrella and my wagon for the baby.  My big boys who are 5 and 4 years old love to swim from one side of the pool to the other and I can see them the entire time :).  The "hot tub" is located right in the middle of everything.  It is just North West of pirates cove.  It is really known as the big pool.  My kids a few years back realized that this pool was the warmest pool of all and so once my oldest said, "lets go to the hot tub... always, always".  The name stuck, but we also got stuck too.  It's my favorite place and everyone in my family loves it.  I'm a big fan of the lazy river too, but when I'm alone with my three boys its definitely a little hard to tackle on my own, I occasionally can get at least two laps.  So my boys would also have to say this year their favorite is the dragon slide.  I am so proud because my 5 year old starting going down by himself this year...woo hoo!  Such an accomplishment and now so much fun for him.  This is something that my big boys get to do when Daddy is there and I'm so okay with that :)
4. Last, but not least, shade, shade and shade. I was talking with a good friend of mine the last time I went to Cherry Hill and she was fully dressed, handing out messy food to her children and some random friends :) She said her favorite part of Cherry Hill is sitting in the shade at pirates cove, taking care of her children while they enjoy the sun and the water. I thought that really is so true, Cherry Hill is so comfortable that way. You get to pick what you want, shade or sun or both. I pick the sun!!!

Hanging out with friends...we love sharing swim days with our best friends and family!  Love you Rhett and gma :)

Boston loves jumping off the side of the pool this year...his canon ball has improved from last year :)

And the countdown begins...Cherry Hill is open Friday!!!

I don't know about you, but my kids and I are itch'n to go swimming.  It's a toss up this weekend though between camping and Cherry Hill!  My husband knows my vote...I bet we both win because I have a say in when we leave and come home from camping.  I can't wait for both :)   This weekend I will be with my family and best friends, plus my Bananna Boat sunscreen and Hawaiian Tropics suntan oil...I can't wait to lather up and sit in the sun!!!   Come back to see my new pictures from "day 1" this season at Cherry Hill.

Hamster Haven or Hamster Hayden at Cherry Hill, Utah

My boys love going to “Hamster Hayden” at Cherry Hill.  It’s probably our favorite thing to do there… Most of you know it as, Hamster Haven, which is correct.  We have a cousin named Hayden and so my youngest son, who is three, has a hard time saying  Hamster Haven and has been calling it Hamster Hayden since we’ve been going. So, in our family it is known as Hamster Hayden .   Although, we have a few made-up names for other things at Cherry Hill, like “the hot tub”.  Which I’m sure I will be talking about all summer long!  I find it so nice to be able to go somewhere clean, outside (yet in the shade, if you go at the right time), and with very few people.   I love my backyard and kind of love parks, but this place is the ultimate place for my little family.  I love that I don’t have to worry about streets or my kids being able to roam freely over a large area.  At Hamster Haven my kids are just like “hamsters in a cage” and I can see them at all times.   A major bonus for anyone who has more than one child!

Hamster Haven is soooo kid friendly and for pretty much any age.  My oldest son who will be six this year spends hours hanging from the ropes like Spiderman or crawling through the balls like an army guy.  The sky is the limit!  I also have an 8 month old that sits and watches his bothers play for hours in the balls.  My husband and I love rewarding our kids with an afternoon at Hamster Haven.  I captured a few great pics of my boys at Hamster Haven…

Please check back to see what our next adventure will be at Cherry Hill!!!
